Esityskioski / Performance Wagon in progress…

Olen mukana luomassa Todellisuuden tutkimuskeskuksen (TTK) Esityskioskia, jonka oppaisiin/esiintyjiin kuulun! Työ alkoi joulukuussa ja tiivistyy elokuuta lähestyttäessä. Kioski on auki Havis Amandan kupeessa 14.-28.8.2021.

Esityskioski on osa TTK:n 20-vuotisjuhlavuoden pääohjelmistoa.

Since December I’ve been working as a co-creator and performer in Performance Wagon. It is Reality Research Center’s (RRC) kiosk selling performative adventures in the very heart of Helsinki, next to Havis Amanda statue August 14 – 28, 2021. It will have a menu of over ten performances that you can buy and enjoy instantly. They vary from small trips to improvised shows that are built with the audience or are based on their wishes. In most cases a guide will accompany the customer, or a small group of customers, and lead them to take a look at and feel the surroundings from a new perspective. The selection also has some performances without a performer. These you can order as take away and enjoy in your own time.

The kiosk menu is inspired by the back catalogue of RRC performances. Some of them are recostructions, some completely new and some may exhibit relics of past performances that took place in the historical city centre.

Performance Wagon is part of the main program of RRC on its 20th anniversary in 2021.

My work here is supported by Arts Promotion Centre Finland.

During the year’s final quarter Reality Research Centre’s Työsaareke group is baking rye bread and discussing future work with the audiences at Helsinki Art Museum’s HAM Corner. I’m one of the bakers and debaters, doing 15 shifts at the bakery until Christmas, starting today.

Work 5.0 – BREAD is a bakery, performance, forum, workshop and live installation. You can participate in it as a spectator, debater or baker. We instruct how to bake rye bread and bakers may take their bread home with them. While baking we talk about work; what is it right now, is it meaningful, is it shit or is it awesome? And what will work be in the future? What should do with it?

Every Saturday there will be a special guest baking with us and discussing future work.

More info from Reality Research Centre and HAM.

EACH LOAF OF BREAD IS A MANIFESTO FOR MORE MEANINGFUL WORK!
